Plastic shopping bag challenge
1. Estimate how many plastic bags you use in a week.
2. Collect all your plastic shopping bags for a week ( collect all types--grocery, retail store, CVS, WaWA, subway, etc.)
3. Calculate how many bags you use in a year.
4. NMS serves 589 families this year (2017-2018). Calculate the number of bags our community produces.
5. Determine what actions you and your family may take to reduce the number of bags you use.
6. Challenge another family (not someone in our class), to reduce their consumption too.
7. In a month, recollect all the bags you used for 1 week. Were you successful? What else can you do to reduce your consumption of plastic bags?
